We now carry the Canine influenza vaccine.
It is a vaccine against H3N2 and H3N8 strains of the canine flu.
It is the only vaccine that aids in the control of disease associated with H3N2 and H3N8 canine influenza virus infections. This does not guarantee protection but they reduce the risk of disease.
It will decrease the severity of the symptoms and decrease the period of infectivity.
The first vaccine must be boostered 2-4 weeks later. Then given once annually.
We recommend it for patients that go to the United States and to patients that come into contact with a lot of other dogs such as in grooming, boarding and in dog parks.
If you would like to book an exam with one of our Doctors or find out further information about canine Influenza and the vaccine, please feel free to call us.
