Dr. Salayka completed her undergraduate degree in Honours Microbiology at the University of Guelph in 2020 before earning her veterinary degree from the University of Glasgow in 2025. She is excited to begin her veterinary career with the team at Abbotsford Animal Hospital and is especially looking forward to building meaningful relationships with her patients and their loving owners.

Dr. Salayka has a special interest in small animal medicine, including avian/exotic pets and small mammals. Throughout her veterinary journey, she gained experience in a variety of clinical settings across Canada, the United States, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Costa Rica.

In her spare time, Dr. Salayka enjoys pilates, dance, and photography. She loves spending time with family and friends, baking sweet treats, attending local theatre performances, and volunteering at wildlife rehabilitation centres. Cozy evenings with a cup of hot tea and a good book or show are her favourite way to unwind.

At home, Dr. Salayka shares her life with Timo, a senior rescue cat, who is mischievous and loves to do tricks. She also took in a lost budgie, named Cindy, who chirps bright and early each morning to make sure the day begins on time!
